The Evasion Trail 140 is a product of Matt's affinity for the mighty Postie Bike aka the Honda Trail 90 (or 110). In short, the Evasion Trail is exactly what it looks like, an Evasion rear end welded to a longer step thru-ish front end, making it more compatible with a flat, riser, alt, townie, or whatever-you-call-it kind of bar. A non-drop bar kinda bike. The only major difference in standards is the Evasion Trail has Boost axle spacing in the rear AND the front. Matt did a whole write up about it on Dropped Chain. Check it, as well as a YouTube video about his sample Trail 140 out here: DROPPED CHAIN WRITE UP
The current batch of photos are of a size Large.
Build Notes:
When sizing the Evasion Trail, keep in mind this is a very flat/ alt bar centric geometry. I will provide some loose sizing suggestions below, but it's always best to take some measurements of your own bike to see what would work best. Also, SIZE UP! (Unless you want a dropper) Feel free to give us a call or email if you're still having troubles or not feeling confident about your size selection. SMALL: 5'0"- 5'5" MEDIUM: 5'5"-5'10" LARGE: 5'10"-6'3"
Designed around a 26x3" wheel and tire combo and thats its max 26" size. We've got 26x2.8" WTB Rangers Here
Word has it 26" is dead (It Ain't. Don't Fear Opulence.) so you will likely go with a 27.5" wheel. The max tire size there is going to be 27.5x2.8".
It can be setup 29", in which case your max tire size is going to be a 29x 2.0".
Takes a MOUNTAIN crank. Ideally 1x with a maximum ~40 tooth chainring. You can set it up 2x, but it's on you to figure that out.
The rocker dropout's adjustability means it is Rohloff and single speed compatible. If you're looking for a dedicated single speed hub the Paul Word Boost hub is a good option.
Front brake is I.S. Mount and takes an adaptor to fit a caliper. The Rear brake is I.S. (Post Mount) as well, but you can bolt a caliper straight to the Rocker Dropout and clear a 160mm rotor. If you're struggling to find a brake setup, the Crust Palm Oil Brake Kit will help solve that problem.
Max Rotor Size: 203mm Front | 180mm Rear
Front and rear thru axles are included.
ED Coated to help protect it from the elements and inhibit internal corrosion. This doesn't mean you're free to ride it into the ocean though.
Takes a 30.0mm seat post clamp with a 27.2 seat post.
